Our Growing bundle of Joy

Carter is growing so fast and getting cuter everyday! He has been smiling a lot lately and he has even started giggling! It's so adorable! Josh and I are so in love with him! He continues to be such a great baby and amazes us over and over!

Our New Friends!

Ever since I discovered the Babycenter.com site, I have been addicted to it! I am part of an amazing board called Confessions in the January '09 group! There is a woman named Kirsten who is in this group and she is moving to a nearby area to me, here in Pensacola! She has a baby girl who is 2 weeks younger than Carter, so he got to meet her and have his first play-date! Carter absolutely loves her...whenever he is fussing and she starts to cry, Carter gets instantly quiet and listens to her! It's absolutely adorable!!! They were in town this last weekend and we met for the first time! Kirsten is as adorable and sweet in person as she is online and her baby is beautiful! She invited me to her parent's home and we had a wonderful time! They live right on the ocean and I was able to see 2 Stingray's swimming under the dock in the backyard!!! And her father showed me the crabs they had caught in the crab traps! Both of which, I had never seen before. After we hung out for a while, her family invited me to go with them to Gallery Night downtown. It's an event that occurs one Friday a month and all the stores open their doors all along the streets and give out free or'dourves and drinks.
The next evening, she invited me over again to go fishing off the dock. We didn't catch anything, but had a few good bites. Her dad joined us and he caught 3 speckled Trout...he let us reel them in, so we partially caught them! ;)
I am so thrilled to have a friend here...an amazingly kind and fun friend!!! I feel so blessed!
I am hoping we can continue to get together, so we can grow as friends and Carter will have a friend to grow up with!
Seeing Kirsten and her baby with her family, makes me miss my family and home back in Michigan, but it's nice to be around them!
Carter and I look forward to many new fun experiences with our new friends! I can't wait for Josh to meet them too!

OuR JoUrNeY sO fAr

Florida is starting to feel like home to us and so far, we love everything we have discovered here! There's a local pizza place that we found and love! I joined the Tropical Touch tanning salon and am starting to get a tan :)
Carter is 8 weeks old and growing so fast and is full of smiles. He is about 10 pounds and almost 24 inches long! My baby is growing faster than I can keep up. He is so aware and loves to look daddy and mommy in the eyes, we absolutely LOVE it! I'm getting a routine down for bed-time and it seems to be working out great...he gets a bath (another of his favorite things), lotioned up, comfy pj's, a bottle and asleep he goes. I discovered last night, that a few of his 0-3 month nighties no longer fit and he never even wore them :( He mainly wears 3 month outfits now...wowzers! The last 2 nights, he has fallen asleep around 9:30 p.m. and sleeps until 3:30 a.m. We are very pleased!
Josh started his new job yesterday and he is enjoying it. His days will be unpredictable, so for me, it's a little different. I like to plan our dinners and when to start preparing them, so it's going to be a little adjustment. We miss each other so much even when we aren't apart very long. We were blessed to have the last 3 months together and Josh was basically able to be on maternity leave with me, so now, having this daily separation is a new experience for us. Being with Carter all by myself is a great bonding time, but at the same time...a growing experience for me. Being with a baby 24/7 definately helps to extend your patience and spontaneous changes. I am learning to get things done quickly and efficiently, in case Carter starts to cry or needs something. I am a clean freak, so I like daily chores to be done everyday...and I'm getting it all down to a science! :)
Last week, we got Carter's first professional portraits done and will be sending them out asap! We should have them back next tuesday. They turned out so cute and we are so excited about them. I was so worried that he would cry the entire time, but he was the complete opposite...he slept through it!
Yesterday was my first time driving since we have moved down and I was extremely nervous about it. My first trip was to the post office and since it went so well, I went to Starbucks too! :) I meant to go to the nearest one to the post office, but it wasn't drive-thru so I drove an extra 4.5 miles to the next one and it was so worth it! I wouldn't mind walking into the other one, but it was raining and I didn't want to carry Carter in it. Thank goodness for GPS!

This is what our life is like at the moment, but it changes daily...so I will do my best to keep updating everyone! I will try to do it more often too! :)

Lots of love xoxoxo

Here we are...

Well, Here we are...in Pensacola, Florida!!! Before we left Michigan, we got a new car...a 9-3 Saab. We downsized to the bare neccessities and in our life went into a Penske truck. I followed behind Josh in the Saab with my brother and we were off for Florida! Our whole lives in a truck and car! I quit my job at the hospital...left friends and family! The emotions are crazy...but we know we will enjoy creating our new lives here and exploring new opportunities! The first day here, we found an amazing apartment that we love so much! We have every convenience here...a pool, hot tub, car wash, complete Whirlpool appliances, jacuzzi tub in master bathroom, walk out spacious deck, granite counters, storage unit, walk-in closets! It's perfect!
We drove down to Pensacola Beach yesterday and it is breath takingly beautiful! I love all the stores along the boardwalk and can't wait to explore them! I look forward to when Carter is big enough to build sand castles!
I am thrilled for our family and friends to come down to see where we live! I miss everyone so much already!!!
