A couple weeks ago, Carter and I made the 2 1/2 hour road trip to New Orleans to meet Kirsten and Gretchen! The trip went very well and Carter was such a good little man! It was definately a great experience that I am looking forward to doing again!
We originally had plans to take our babies to the Aquarium, but unfortunately it was closed on Monday's. So instead, we walked all around the French quarter. There is so much to see and so much to do! It's like mini-mardi gras all year round.
We walked beside a small parade led by the Grande Marshall and a Jester gave me beads and so did another guy in the parade! We felt like a scene from a comedy that has a mariachi band following them around! Good times!
We took a horse carriage ride, which was absolutely amazing! Carter and Gretchen loved looking at everything! This was one of my favorite things we did! It was so relaxing and enjoyable!
I swear, we were asked at least 20 times if our babies were twins since they are noticeably the same age! We kept telling them "no, they are best friends"! :)
We ate dinner at a fantastic restaurant that had african food and it was honestly one of the best meals I have ever had! I had chicken, fried rice and spinach...mmmmmmmmm! It's called Bennachin! I highly recommend it to anyone going to New Orleans! THE BEST!
And get this?!?!?! We ran into Kurtwood Smith aka "Red" from That 70's Show! We walked right next to him...not even 5 feet away! He complimented Kirsten on how cute Gretchen's flower hat was! I stared at him like a big dufus...I was so amazed at how much he looked like him and was trying to figure out if it was. Afterwards, I noticed a group of people standing a little ways away taking pictures of him and that's when it dawned on me that it was in fact him!!! I was as giddy as a little kid in a toy store!
Doing anything with Kirsten is a good time! I'm so thankful for such a great friend!
